Here we have an early and exceedingly rare black duck by this Philadelphia carver uncovered by Russ Allen. Dating to about 1870, it is in worn, original paint with sleek form. Wooden peg construction was utilized although the body appears to be one piece. A hot brand “ISAAC NEWTON” is on the underside from the Ottawa Club located in Port Clinton, Ohio. There are cracks visible in the neck and tail area that are both stable. It measures approximately 15.5"l.
