Alvirah Wright Ruddy Duck
Exceedingly rare ruddy duck by one of North Carolina’s best carvers made circa 1900. It exhibits his unmistakable form with high head and angular body. A carved “E” on the underside links it to the Knotts Island guide Napoleon Etheridge. It is believed the head is an early replacement by Frank Finney. Formerly in the Don Walston Collection. It measures about 14” l.
