Check out this sleek red breasted merganser drake by Davison Hawthorne, who lived in Greenwood, Delaware and had a shop on Route 13 just north of Salisbury, Maryland for many years. This “shooting stool” style decoy has carved crest, eyes and wings and was hunted back in the 1970’s. It retains a Bobby Richardson Collection ink stamp on the bottom. It is also signed “shooting stool” and D. B. Hawthorne on the underside measuring 17” long.
