Oversized and early black duck by the dean of the Havre de Grace carving school circa 1940. Exhibiting rounded speculums and wonderful scratch paint, the ballast weight is fastened with one nail fore and aft and the staple is oriented north/south. Besides expected wear from use, the bill sustained damage from a puppy or rat many years ago. It measures just shy of 16” l.
