Classic 1948 style black duck with balsa body, pine head and tail insert. Great form on this one with turned head and high back. Outstanding feather paint and bold speculums accentuate the oversized body. Paint has worn off neck filler on one side. Body has small dings from use and an old coat of varnish to protect the paint. “Black Duck” written under bill. Signed and dated 1948 on underside. Measures almost 18” overall from tip of bill to tail.
