Wildfowler Factory Goldeneye Pair

$475.00

Superior Model goldeneye pair made by Ted Mulliken, founder of the Wildfowler Decoy Factory in Old Saybrook, CT circa 1950. See page 44 of “Wildfowler Decoys” by Cowan and LaFountain for a very similar pair. After World War II, balsa was readily available up and down the coast, having been used as flotation in life rafts. Decoy makers took advantage of this availability and made decoys while the life rafts lasted. This pair remains in excellent condition with minimal wear and shot scars. The hen has minor paint loss on her bill. Both retain wooden keels with sheet lead ballast weights, they measure approximately 13” long.
